define main_text with external file?

I've just installed OSC for a customer who is not PHP proficient so I'd like to give them a simple HTML file to use for the main_text variable on the index page.

 

Would it be best to change the code on the index.php page so it doesn't echo the main_text variable, or change the variable to include an external file?
