Moving to the root directory

Installation is finally complete.

In order to access my finished site, I have to go to

www.mydomain.com/catalog

looking at other sites, they seem to be in the root (without the catalog folder)

How is this done? do I just move the whole catalog folder?

Thanks

Wally

You need to move every file down one level. The easiest way is to open the catalog file using an ftp program and cut and paste all the files to the root folder. You then need to remove the catalog part from all the relevant entries in both configure files.

It may seem easy but it can cause problems. saying that it is best to do if you require better SEO.

Thanks Steve.

Does everyone do this?

I noticed all the sites I visited did not have me go to their catalog folder.

What gives?

I'm confused. If the default install is this way, then how does everyone else do it?

Thanks

BTW, which config files need to be edited?
