I know a bunch of the site text is still generic, but the dude said he wanted to fix the wording himself on those emails and such. I am also aware of some generic table_background_ images. I didn't remove them and he didn't pay me to modify those pages.

The site is live so please do not contact the dude about anything (unless you're from Indiana and want to utilize his services).

All buttons point to the contact page and I removed all links to the cart thus I have products so I can utilize that table for content, but no checkout. If you find a button that takes you to any part of the checkout process, I beg you to tell me immediately.

Anyway, if you find straight up errors, please let me know. All comments are definitely welcome.

The Site

Thanks!

Looks great, nice work! A few comments:

  • The page title on login.php is "TEST"
  • There are no margins for the content on create_account.php
  • If you're not going to use the checkout process, you should just delete the checkout_* and shopping_cart.php files.
  • Stick a thumbnail contribution in there because all of the thumbnails are just resized 70-100k images.

That's all I see offhand.

Please use the forums for support! I am happy to help you here, but I am unable to offer free technical support over instant messenger or e-mail.

Thanks for the notes! I did notice all of the things you said, but I did not know that I could just delete those files and laziness preventing me from fixing the create_account file. As for the thumbnail contrib, I do have the GD Library contrib installed...I thought it worked fine. Are you saying I should use something else? Multiple images? Thanks a bunch for the tips, I am truely grateful!

Great website! It looks really nice. Makes me want to buy a glock.

I have one suggestion and that is regarding the purchasing process. I understand that you can't just sell a glock to any first time buyer; however, I don't think its enough to just put your phone number up expecting them to call you.

You need a call to action - so that they will call you, or fill out a form giving you their phone number or email. Calls to action are important which is why almost ever e-commerce site uses them. If I were you, I would place a big button called 'order' (your call to action) next to the product (even if the price is not displayed). When the person clicks on the 'order' button, they are taken to a screen where they can put down their contact details and get the sales process started. I would move your phone number to underneath the 'order' button as well.

I hope you found these suggestions helpful. It really is a beautiful website though. Who designed it? Also, is it true that Glocks can really fire under water?

well done - a perfect example of a non-stock looking site. Just some of your pages have a NAVBAR showing up - your SEO needs to be looked at.

Upon receiving fixes and advice, too many people don't bother to post updates informing the forum of how it went. Until of course they need help again on other issues and they come running back!

Why receive the information you require in good faith for free, only to then have the attitude to ignore the people who gave it to you?

There's no harm in saying, 'Thanks, it worked'. On the contrary, it creates a better atmosphere.

Thanks for the suggestions...I really appreciate them. The site is purely informational. The glock info is really just a start for him to put information up about all of the makers that he carries, I just put in those for him. He isn't really trying to sell anything but services and guns to local customers. If I understand you correctly...

I designed it, and I have no clue about the guns. Thanks to everybody for all the comments. It really boosts my self confidence! For real. Thank you.
