Guest Posted November 20, 2006 Posted November 20, 2006 Hi I had a GeoTrust SSl certificate installed on my site today but it was not installed on the original ip as the tech at my web host had problems with that ip so created a new static ip. Could this be the problem?? I would greatly appreciate any ideas as I have been trying to get the ssl cert installed 4 days.
Guest Posted November 20, 2006 Posted November 20, 2006 no, as long as it is on the same server. your host will need to reinstall it.
Guest Posted November 20, 2006 Posted November 20, 2006 Thanks for your reply so would it be that they did not assign it to the www.mysite.com as it was created only assigning it to mysite.com. I also found out about the configuration files that need to be updated but i am assuming as it was a matched certificate that the above scenario is most likely. Am I correct in my thoughts??
Guest Posted November 20, 2006 Posted November 20, 2006 you can look at the properties of your ssl to see how it was issued. basically if your host generated it, they did it as domain.com and not www.domain.com
Guest Posted November 20, 2006 Posted November 20, 2006 It was created by a seperate company and applied to the server by my host. I created private key for www.mysite.com
