need advise please !!!

Hi,

 

I am selling PC memories in my store, So I need to have very long Categories name.

For example:

 

Travelmate 240 Series (242X/244x/243L)

Travelmate 290 Series (290Xi/XCi/LCi) Pentium M 1.3Ghz

Travelmate 660 Series (661XCi) Pentium M 1.4Ghz

Travelmate 250 series (252ELC)

Travelmate 370 series (371 TCi)

Travelmate 430 Series (432LC, 433LC)

Travelmate 800 Series (800XLi, 802LCi, 803LCi)

 

(This category, for example, includes computer systems models & also compatibility list for the products that should be located in this category)

 

My question: Is it O.K if I will change the database to have categories name length aprox. 250 or 300 char, it will work for me? AND it will not have conflicts with Easypopulate contribution (since I use it..)

 

Please give me an advise, I am really new to PHP

I'm probably not the best help, but i'l give you what i know.

 

As far as problems with Easy Populate. I've read the entire manual, and i didn't see anything about field lengths in the very extensive "carefull, this could break it" Section.

 

I dont know anything else that could pose a problem here. I'd say do the smart thing. Backup everything, try it, and if it breaks, you havn't lost anything.

 

my bet however, is that it's gonna be just fine.
