d4funky1 Posted November 17, 2006 Posted November 17, 2006 Hi, I am looking for the best payment module to use with oscommerce. I am currently using NOCHEX which seems fine apart from a couple of issues 1, No payments can be made over ?100 without signing up and waiting for verification details to be sent to the card. 2, Partial refunds cannot be made to orders. So, with that in mind here are a few must haves: 1, payments of any size can be made with minimal fuss 2, partial refunds can be made 3, instant intergration - no merchant account required and finally NOT PAYPAL  Any advice on this matter will be received with thanks. ddp Posted November 18, 2006 Posted November 18, 2006 I think looking all of the better processors use merchant accounts. My processor "Moneris" does what you want but will not do it without a merchant account. Reputable companies want to deal with reputable companies and having a merchant account is part of this. If your business is realit should have a merchant account. Backup before making changes. Backup before making changes! Backup before making changes!! You did do a backup? eh?
Jack_mcs Posted November 18, 2006 Posted November 18, 2006 You asked for the best module. Well, that depends on how much you want to pay out in charges. But as far as a free service is concerned, paypal is the only real choice. If you are in business to make money, then you are shooting yourself in the foot before you take a first step. Like it or not, Paypal is highly respected and their name is becoming more and more known with new web-shoppers. Not offering paypal because you don't like the company is a mistake which will cost you money, both in credit card charges and loss of sales. Once you are established, you can switch to something like Authorize.net, but even then I think it would be a mistake to not offer the shoppers what they want.
