Guest Posted November 17, 2006 Posted November 17, 2006 So I go into my control panel, and into Payment Modules, and the second item is Credit Card. Does that thing mean if I include my own credit card details, and people pay on my site, the money automatically transfers to my card via some mysterious gateway which isn't mentioned anywhere but is somehow secretly coded into the osCommerce system? The knowledgebase page at http://www.oscommerce.info/docs/english/e_payment.html doesn't say a thing about it. At all. Quote
Jack_mcs Posted November 17, 2006 Posted November 17, 2006 No, the credit card module just collects the information for you. You would then need a way to process the charge yourself (by having your own credit card terminal or using a virtual terminal from some payment processing company). I was having the same question and I wish that the documentation mention it, like what this module really does and how to get/link a terminal (or put it in the options for this module). Pat Quote
Jack_mcs Posted November 19, 2006 Posted November 19, 2006 To get your own teminal, you have to contact a finanacial institution that offers them. To get a virtual one, you need to sing up with one of the supported payment providers, like authorize.net. Whcih you do, if either at all, usually comes down to cost. Both of the above methods will cost $20-$30 plus fees. Compare that to paypal IPN which just has the fees.
