SeanB Posted November 17, 2006 Posted November 17, 2006 The site's been running a couple weeks now, and the Radio Advertising will start soon. The site is to support a local business that's been in town many years, so it's only an auxiliary addition. Again, i'l point out that there is a bunch of adult content on there. http://www.pillow-talk.ca Let me know what you think. dynamoeffects Posted November 17, 2006 Posted November 17, 2006 I think it's...osCommerce. It looks like an unmodifed version of 2.2MS2 with your logo and a different border color. Not sure what changes you've made that I would be able to comment on. Please use the forums for support! I am happy to help you here, but I am unable to offer free technical support over instant messenger or e-mail.
rommany Posted November 17, 2006 Posted November 17, 2006 You have not even changed the buttons and the blue ones do not work with you site, you have no ssl and i agree with brian you have added a logo and changed the basic osC colour and added a few products, so if you are asking what do i think of osC template - well its a good start to build on but i would make a lot more changes before i start to ask for any feedback...
chooch Posted November 18, 2006 Posted November 18, 2006 unfortunately its all been said... Upon receiving fixes and advice, too many people don't bother to post updates informing the forum of how it went. Until of course they need help again on other issues and they come running back! Why receive the information you require in good faith for free, only to then have the attitude to ignore the people who gave it to you? There's no harm in saying, 'Thanks, it worked'. On the contrary, it creates a better atmosphere. CHOOCH
SeanB Posted November 19, 2006 Author Posted November 19, 2006 Well it's all good feedback, none the less. I'm working on those things, since they're obviously the first things that stood out. I had forgotten about the buttons entirely. I had another couple of set's, just hadn't uploaded one of them. In the end, i'm actually making a custom color mod to the existing ones, until i can get some made myself. As far as the stock interface, i gotta admit, i like it. That's why i hadn't installed any of the templates i'd looked at. I'm going to make some modifications to the Categories area, but everything else will probably stay the same. SSL is a point of thought on a daily basis. Unfortunatly i'm just the webmaster, not the guy who pays the bills :) However, we are getting sales regardless of the SSL. Like i said, this store is to suppliment a local store. A "Hold for Pickup" shipping module was the first thing i installed. Anyway, i'm taking it all as good feedback. It's not the feedback i was looking for, since i asked what you thought of the site, not the store, but oh well. Thanks. ddp Posted November 19, 2006 Posted November 19, 2006 It's not the feedback i was looking for, since i asked what you thought of the site, not the store, but oh well. From our perspective the store and site are the same thing. What were you looking for? Backup before making changes. Backup before making changes! Backup before making changes!! You did do a backup? eh?
SeanB Posted November 19, 2006 Author Posted November 19, 2006 That's understandable. I'm going to do some more work, give the site a little more "charm", then ask again. After the initial feedback, i started looking at other sites, and i now know just how "custom" oscommerce can get. My website's address is in My Profile, since it's not allowed to be in my signature.
