MR V
Hi I have spent hours looking through the forums to find out about using columns & rows for product listing as set in catalogue page of default install, having 3 x 3 on product listings instead of in list style. I evntually came across a thread which pointed to the contributions for product listing, I downloaded the contribution product_listings_columns 2.2, however I am a little confused. The install instructions file states to overwrite the product_listings_col.php and replace with the new version. I could not find this file. All I could find was product_listing.php under includes/modules. where is the product_listing_col.php file found or is it that I have to delete the product_listing.php and it will then use the product_listing_col.php file?? I have inserted the necessary query into the configuration table with no problems and my admin is showing the following new feature under product listing : number of column per row - which is set to 3. Can anyone see why this isn't working? Thanks :'(
shooter-boy
Hiya, There are a few variations of this contrib, but i think i can help. You don't need to do anything with the product_listing.php file. Just leave it be. Copy the product_listing_col.php file into the folder. There should be a stage in the installation instructions where you change filenames.php to look for product_listing_col.php instead of product_listing.php. That takes care of it, so all you need to do to "reverse" your changes is to change the entry in filenames.php back to the original. I have tried two of these contribs. One worked and one didn't, so possibly you have the same trouble. I am not on the dev machine at the moment, but you can PM me if you want to know the one I got working (if you don't get yours going). I'm sorry, but i cannot offer Free support via PM etc, and osCommerce forums prohibit me from putting any reference to paid support in my signauture.
