Avec Posted November 15, 2006 Posted November 15, 2006 This store Rose Garden Boutique has been selling since last fall. It has been doing nicely with many contributions installed. I would like feedback and suggestions on what I should do to take it to a new level. The products sold are all high-end, and for the most part, well known items, at least to those looking for them. I would like the site to reflect the up-scale aspect of the products and the high level of customer service given. Thank you in advance, as all feedback is appreciated.
Guest Posted November 15, 2006 Posted November 15, 2006 hello. you could work a liitle bit on the stylesheet. Rose Garden Boutique is the internet's leading retailer of plush Canyon Group chenille robes and fabulous Design Options embellished sweaters! We carry the largest selection of styles on the internet, all available for immediate shipment. that doesn't look vey good.
Avec Posted November 16, 2006 Author Posted November 16, 2006 Thank you for the information. By style sheet and text, do you mean the site colors, or does the text need to be redone? Thanks again for your help.
spax Posted November 17, 2006 Posted November 17, 2006 He could mean the font. Monotype Corsiva isn't a standard font so not eveyone will have it. Those that don't will revert to their default font, usually Times New Roman. Check this link for a list: http://www.kayskreations.net/fonts/fonttb.html
chooch Posted November 18, 2006 Posted November 18, 2006 umm, the good points have to be the colour contrast and the buttons (very nice indeed) the column right is very poor because your 'button' is making the box look ridiculous as the info box is just above it! the product info image pop-up needs attention because valuable info isnt showing at the footer - create a space below your image for the pop-up info to show Upon receiving fixes and advice, too many people don't bother to post updates informing the forum of how it went. Until of course they need help again on other issues and they come running back! Why receive the information you require in good faith for free, only to then have the attitude to ignore the people who gave it to you? There's no harm in saying, 'Thanks, it worked'. On the contrary, it creates a better atmosphere. CHOOCH
Avec Posted November 20, 2006 Author Posted November 20, 2006 the column right is very poor because your 'button' is making the box look ridiculous as the info box is just above it! By this I assume you mean the search box at the top. Should this be moved to an info box in the right column below specials. Then leave only the cart contents in the header? Thank you for the insight, and I would appreciate more. Thank you.
Andrew Yuen Posted November 23, 2006 Posted November 23, 2006 I would create a logo and consider putting your site in a fixed width table. Your header repeats on my screen (1400 X 1050), I see Rose Garden Boutique then Rose G. In addition in the category infobox I would use align left on the text and change the buttons. On the login page the new customer information is shifted left when it should go all the way across the main content infobox. Finally when I click on a product, the Tell a Friend button is too big for the infobox. Consider shrinking that button. I do like the consistent color scheme. Andrew Yuen osCommerce, Community Team
Avec Posted November 25, 2006 Author Posted November 25, 2006 I am making some of the suggested changes, and thank you to those who have commented. I realized that our store was started exactly 1 year ago. During that time we have processed 233 orders from 161 unique customers. Not to bad, but it can get better. Please add further feedback, positive or not, as I just want the store to be as inviting and productive as possible.
