Guest
If you want to develop on your own computer and don't have your own domain setup yet, you can edit your HOSTS file to map localhost to whatever your domain name will be. In win2k it's c:winntsystem32driversetchosts modify the first uncommented line 127.0.0.1 localhost www.YOURNAME.com change that to whatever you want and your browser will search that hosts file before the dns server. It should work in linux in theory but I haven't tried it there yet. This makes it pretty easy to mod your site offline and just drop it onto your new host once it's up Ryan
Guest
... In win2k it's c:winntsystem32driversetchosts ... Quite possibly ... but windows systems tend to call it LMHOSTS (or LMHOST). Yes, the uppercase matters.
