kquad Posted November 13, 2006 Posted November 13, 2006 Hello, I just opened up my new ecommerce site a few days ago. I have about 20 customers who have created accounts but only about 5 orders, which I find a bit strange. I also noticed some of them didn't even log in after creating their accounts. I was looking at the Purchase Without Account contribution and was wondering what exactly is the point of making your customers go through the trouble of creating accounts and logging in when they could just enter their shipping and billing information and complete the order? The items I sell won't bring any return customers - so is there any point to account creation? I have a feeling they were confused after creating their accounts and decided not to order. Any thoughts?
jdvb Posted November 13, 2006 Posted November 13, 2006 I had some problems there too, I redifined where you are sent after completing the registration form, I redirected my customers to the checkout process. Was also thinking about that contribution, am just seeing if I get less response from customers that do not know how to order. If not I might give them a choice fast order without a order process status or register, keep shopping cart and all. Just thinking about how to put that choice, perhaps even write my own contrib for that.
