Guest
I have built a number of oscommerce stores but nothing as complex as selling yarn. I am looking for suggestions on how to organize the site, as it would require several levels of complexity. Sub categories of yarn would be Fiber: ie, wool, cashmere, silk etc. further sub category would types ie, chunky, bulky, worsted etc. after that would be colors: Could this be done with Attributes? Can someone point me to a site which has done this? It doesn't have to be yarn per se, but anything which breaks down into many sub categories. Any advice would be appreciated. thanks, M
lailasmum
I shop for yarn occasionally and don't think your site sounds that complex really. As you said you would have the fiber and then weights and then I imagine you would have the yarns listed by their name/brand and then with in a product with a colour swatch so people can see the colours then all they would need to do is select the colour from an attributes drop down. I don't think it would be that difficult. My store has many sub categories and my products have sub products and attributes. Its not too difficult. I use CRE Loaded 6.2 pro as it had all the sub product and attributes contributions installed already.
