I have a problem to install oscommerce because I haven't got FTP to enable Catalog folder executable and its saying "Server Requirement Error: register_globals is disabled in your PHP configuration. This can be enabled in your php.ini configuration file or in the .htaccess file in your catalog directory." Please tell how I can solve this problem in simpler way."

You need a new webhost if your current one does not offer a basic ftp option, sorry I know its not much use, but I would be complaing to my web host about this.

Yeah, what stu2000 said. You will need ftp access. There is a register_globals workaround, but that is the least of your troubles at the moment.

Thanks

I think the poster means they either can't access php.ini by FTP or that they don't have an FTP programme.

The first is simple - not many hosts give access to a local php.ini file, so you have to create your own with just this code in it:

register_globals = On

and then put it in the catalog, admin and install folders.

If the poster doesn't have an FTP programme then download FileZilla or WS FTP Home.
