Thumbnails loading very slow

I have installed OsCommerce 2.2 from Fantastico on a CPanel host.

 

The demo products were also installed.

 

When I go to the catalog, the page loads up just fine, except a bunch of the thumbnails are still blank. After a while the rest of the thumbnails appear. They come up all at once, almost like it is hanging, waiting for something, and then just decides to finally show them. It doesn't do it if you have loaded it once and are just clicking to the front page, but you have to actually refresh it. (This is abnormally slow for loading images.)

 

I have OsCommerce also installed on localhost and the images come up fast.

 

Is this a configuration setting?
