william_skaggs
Hi, I am very new to oscommerce and alot of this info required for setting up site. I have set up hosting through godaddy.com. They have a ftp client to upload files to the server. I read some instructions on uploading the folder named catalog to the root folder. The problem is, I dont know which is root folder. I created a folder called public_html on the hosting server and uploaded the catalog folder to public_html. Next, I set up the database through mySQL. Then the instructions says to go to http://www.<mydomain>.com/catalog/index.php. I did this but i get message that says "page not found". However, if i go to http://www.<mydomain>.com/public_htm...talog/index.php then I get to the install oscommerce page. My problem is that i have to put /public_html in the browser. Can anyone please tell me what Im doing wrong please? Was I suppose to create a folder called public_html on the host server? Some other quick info. When I go to the ftp client there are folders on the host server called cgi, php_uploads, stats, and the folder i created public_html. There are some files named favicon.ico, gdform.php, missing.html, php.ini, and welcome.html. On the file php.ini I changed the register_globals to on. Sorry for the long post and question as im sure its something I did wrong. Thanks in advance, William Skaggs
william_skaggs
Should I just upload the folder catalog to the server host without creating a folder on the host server to put it in? Would that work?
