laura.beasley Posted November 6, 2006 Posted November 6, 2006 Hi All. I will start with apologies as I will probably sound stupid, I am totally new to all this so I am looking for any help. I have set everything up apart from the postage. I am based in the UK and want to post my items to the UK mainland and Europe. The price will be determined by the total weight. I have set up the postage to the UK however I really am finding it impossible to set anything up for Europe. Can someone please explain to me ( in simple English ) how to set up this European postage? Also, I have done a test run on my sight which seems to working fine, until I get to the very end. After confirming the order a screen appears telling me to send payment, this is fine. Then at the bottom right corner there is a continue button. When this is pressed a screen keeps soming up saying page cannot be found. This is very annoying and I cannot get rid of it. Please please somone respond to me. Thanks Laura

Thanks Laura Ok, it sounds like you have a couple of separate problems, and I'll help if I can. First, so I can take a look at them, what shipping and payment modules are you using? Hi Thanks for replying, I am using the table rate by weight for my shipping and I am using paypal, NOCHEX, money order and cheque. Laura

Laura Let's attack the matter of the shipping first, shall we? Does the UK postal service have a service whereby you can get domestic and international shipping rates? You usually have to sign up for this type of (most likely) free service and it might be much easier to work with rather than the tables. No Good Deed EVER Goes Unpunished

Yes it does but I have no idea how to sign up to this or where to go. I had my site designed for me so I am limitedd to what I can actually change.

Ok, first step, the post office web site. What you are looking for is a facility for web-based rate quotes. I will go and look as well as it is probably late there. If I can't find a contrib that deals with Royal mail, I will try to adapt the Canadian Postal shipping with dimensions contrib to your needs in the UK. Stiff upper lips and all that :-) Richard No Good Deed EVER Goes Unpunished

I really am sorry to be a pain and I really appreciate all the help you are giving me. Laura

Laura Yes, I spent quite a bit of time there as well, without finding what I was looking for, however, because this on-line quote thing could save so much time NOT fooling around with Excel spreadsheet tables, it may be worth a call to Mail Central :-) to tell them what you want to do and find out what hoops you have to jump through to get from here to there. I'd do it myself, but, although I'm sure you're a wonderful lady, I draw the line at calling the UK from Canada to find out what the routine is :-) Richard No Good Deed EVER Goes Unpunished
