Help required with QTProV4.25 and EP2.8

Help!

I have installed QTProV4.25 and EP2.8 linked to Sage Line50 in a faily modified shop and

have a couple of problems.

My shop sells clothing and accessories where some of the products have size options. The

version of EP I am using seems to handle this as expected and the stock level is recorded

in the db in products->product_quantity for those products which do not have options and

products_stock->products_stock_quantity for those products which have options.

Problem1: The low stock report lists all the products which have a stock value of less than

5 this includes all the 'parent' products which have options regardless of whether the

options have sufficient stock or not. Clicking on the product goes to the stock update page

and you can see that the options have suffient stock. I guess it is picking up the fact that

products->product_quantity is set to 0.

Problem2: When an order is placed for a product which has options the stock of the 'parent'

product is decreased. So I end up with negative stock and the products are no longer available.

Is the problem in EP or QT? Has anyone else seen/had this issue?

Is it simply a question of adding up all the stocks of the options and saving this

value in the 'parent' product->product_quantity in the db? If this is the case

then how will we know when an option runs out of stock?

Any help appreciated.

Thanks
