Well, for starters...is it best to save the download to my local root folder or my server folder? Yup, I'm a real beginner. I appreciate any help I can get.

For developing purposes its good to have the files on your PC as you can make a lot of changes quickly.

For starting off though, I would upload everything in the catalog/ folder to your webspace via ftp and start from there, once uploaded, goto http://www.yoursite/catalog/install/

and follow the online instructions.

It seems I uploaded the update not the whole catalog and directory. Am I in the right location on the osCommerce site?

Can anyone tell me where to find the actual shopping cart catalog directory to download? I can only find the update on this site. I must be missing something.

Please bare with me...my server is linux but the only way I can download it is to download it to my PC then upload it to the server. When I download the link you gave me for linux, save it, upload it to the server, I open it and it says can't be found. When I downloaded it for windows, I got the whole folder but that won't work with my lunix server, correct?

no - what you should do is download the linux package and unzip that locally on your PC then upload the catalog folder to your "linux" server

That's the problem when I download at the link you gave me and try to open it, it tells me Windows can not open the file. It does not download as a folder as the windows package does.

It actually downloads as a document not a folder. I appreciate your help. Sorry for the trouble.
