gg3558 Posted November 2, 2006 Author Posted November 2, 2006 everyone here will be happy to help - what do you want to know Well, for starters...is it best to save the download to my local root folder or my server folder? Yup, I'm a real beginner. I appreciate any help I can get.
Guest Posted November 2, 2006 Posted November 2, 2006 For developing purposes its good to have the files on your PC as you can make a lot of changes quickly. For starting off though, I would upload everything in the catalog/ folder to your webspace via ftp and start from there, once uploaded, goto http://www.yoursite/catalog/install/ and follow the online instructions.

crash3903 Posted November 2, 2006 Posted November 2, 2006 I unzipped the windows download but the server is linux. Should I upload the files to the server anyway? no - what you should do is download the linux package and unzip that locally on your PC then upload the catalog folder to your "linux" server Regards Mark A Reynolds
gg3558 Posted November 2, 2006 Author Posted November 2, 2006 no - what you should do is download the linux package and unzip that locally on your PC then upload the catalog folder to your "linux" server That's the problem when I download at the link you gave me and try to open it, it tells me Windows can not open the file. It does not download as a folder as the windows package does.
