renb
Hi Group, My apologies if this subject has been previously answered. I'm a newbie and finally getting osCommerce installed for us. So far so good. I am first working on function before modifing the "look". However, just ran into a quick snag. I was woundering if there was a file to edit to prevent the "Images" in configuration from streching our product images? Would rather not have to modify all our product images right now. Thanks in advance for any help. Ren
ammmze
I haven't tried this yet, I will be trying it on my next shop but it sounds like it will do what you want it to do. http://www.oscommerce.com/community/contributions,2226/
digbydo
in admin > configuration > images just set either the width or height. i.e. blank out one of the values - not zero one-click installation.. Dave's info
ammmze
that is another option, I used that on my first shop that I created, but I decided the Auto thumbnailer would be better in the long run because it will save bandwidth and somtimes when resizing images with just those can cause your pictures to look a little weird, like they need anti-aliasing badly, but if I understand correctly GD2 won't do that. But if your just looking for somthing to fix it for now, then do as digbydo suggested.
renb
in admin > configuration > images just set either the width or height.i.e. blank out one of the values - not zero Thanks Dave, Branden, I did find that suggestion earlier and set one of the values to 0 (zero). Zero, has no "value" but it's still a number.. Works just fine now.. On the other point, I would love to try out some contribs and get a quick cool look. Unfortunately my dev site is on a Mac w/ OS X 10.4 and Safari. I tried installing one mod and got a blank screen. I think I have an issue w/ Safari not reading the .css need to do some debugging there. I'll have to stick w/ baby step changes to look good.
