mrkryz Posted November 2, 2006 Posted November 2, 2006 Hi all, I run a store which is generally under very low utilization. However; twice a year we run a prmotional sale for approx. 48 hours in which we regularly see 30-100+ concurrent users shopping. During these peaks of traffic the server load soars 30-50 (linux box). This year we upgraded to a dual Xeon 2.8GHz + 2Gig Ram + Raid 5. Does anyone have any advice that runs similar systems or gets hit with spikes of traffic also? This is a single machine that is one the whole greatly under-utilized 99% of the year. PHP5 & Mysql 5
MarthaD Posted November 3, 2006 Posted November 3, 2006 What exactly is the question? Does the server crap out or are you looking for a better configuration or what? I ran a site that took 80,000 + uniques in under 24 hours, built on osC - whats the prob?
