editing and adding text

I have a few problems I hope someone can help me with. Within Admin I am trying to change and add customer details, add text to shipping and returns, privacy notice and contact us in the information box. How do I do this? If I open the Online Catalogue I cannot edit anything, is this where I should be??? :'(

You need to edit the files directly. For example, to edit the Contact Us page you need to edit catalog/includes/languages/english/contact_us.php.

 

Just be sure to make your changes within the enclosing single quotes and if you use any apostrophes in your text you will need to escape them, which means putting a backslash before it (eg. "What's this" should be entered as "What\'s this").
