Categories/Products in Admin is empty

I try to set-up my store, and added a new Category testen (English) and testde (German).

I have not assigned a picture for it!!!

I submitted this update and since then Categories/Products and the left navigation box is left. No demo categories are here anymore.

How can I get back the Categories?
