jentiffr24 Posted November 1, 2006 Posted November 1, 2006 Hi. I am new to e-commerce. I have both credit card and mail order payment options on my site. A customer placed an order with a postal mail payment option. I accidently shipped the goods before receiving payment. I notified the customer the day UPS delivered it and asked that it be returned if they decided they didn't want the order. Of course, I've not heard back. UPS confirms the package was hand delivered to the customer. Is this customer violating the law? Can I report the customer's refusal to pay to the credit bureau? :'( Thanks
Terra Posted November 2, 2006 Posted November 2, 2006 yes, it is against the law as the customer is obliged to pay for ordered goods. However, as you shipped before receiving payment you're not in a good position. Unless the amount is substantial, I'd write it off as experience. Not being sarcastic, just practical.
