Can I define the Subcatergories color somehow?

I want to ad a new class the the subcatergory string in the catergories box but im unsure on how to do this. Firstly i want to figure out how to changet the colour of the subcatergories then i want to indent it (instead of the "  " ).

 

Is there some way I can use a unordered list css with it and how do I define it?

The part that Im talking about is the in "/catalog/includes/boxes/catergories.php"

 

Is there a contribustion that can order them differently?

Ive included a screenshot of how i want it layed out. As you can see the catergories are expanded but I had to do this through manual HTML which is pretty useless if I want to add more catrergories later. PLEAAAASE help me!
