Paypal and OSC - orders not being shown

Hello all,

 

Well, a client of mine has decided to use Paypal for his OSC and after testing we discovered the payment was arriving but OSC was not showing any orders in the admin panel.

 

After searching the OSC forums and Google it became apparent that this fault is quite a common one with OSC and Paypal.

 

With this in mind, I trawled the OSC contributions and decided to install "Held Orders V1b" available here http://www.oscommerce.com/community/contributions,1153 but the problem still persists.

 

Now, on the main admin screen the oders are shown on the left as below:

 

 

But clicking on "Pending", "Processing" or "Preparing [Paypal IPN]" simply returns a blank screen as below:

 

 

I can see that the orders are being placed into the Database but the admin orders screen just refuses to show them.

 

If anyone can point me int eh right direction or tell me exactly how to fix this it would be very very much appreciated.

After turning on IPN and entering the checkout_success.php address in the IPN URL box, all appears to be working.

Hello Chey,

 

Simply login to Paypal, click Profile and then click IPN Preferences over on the right hand column.

 

Click Edit and then turn on IPN and enter http://www.yourdomain.com/checkout_success.php as the IPN Return URL.

 

This should solve your problem.

I tried doing what you advised about turning on the IPN and entering the url. But it still does not work for me. When the customer purchases through PayPal, I can see the order in my PayPal account but I still cannot see her order in the oscommerce admin.

 

There is one more problem. After turning on the IPN, I realised when the customer buys something, the product description is correct but the amount that the customer paid for is different from what is stated on my website. I do not understand how the system can come out with figures that are different from the figures stated on my website. This only happens for customers who pay using PayPal.

 

Any suggestions?
