Main Text - Can't Edit

Hi,

 

When I attempt to edit the main page text in 'Tools' - Define Languages, I get an error message that reads: Cannot Write to This File. Please Set the User Permissions.

Am I attempting to edit the main page text in the wrong place? If not, what do the user permissions need to be set at?

 

Any help is greatly appreciated!

it's easier to use a FTP program in my opinion.

 

Edit /catalog/includes/languages/english/index.php with a text editor (even something lke notepad) and then upload the file with FTP over the top of the old one and that will make the changes for you.

Try the permission of 755, if that doesn't work try 775 and if that doesn't work use 777
