Guest Posted October 31, 2006 Posted October 31, 2006 Hello community :) This is my very first post here and I'm already asking for stuff. This is a request for a contribution that might or might not be available already... I've been setting up my store web site Samurai Electronics.net for a few days now and I will soon being to add products and such. I've used a few contributions from here as well which I think are very usefull and great (such as Human Confirmation, Display Queries and others) but there is one thing that I'm still looking for and can't find; I'm sorry maybe one of you know and might point me to the right direction, I would greatly appreciate it; The feature that I'm looking for is something like a drop down box in which I could let the customer choose an item that is in the catalog but that doesn't show under the products categories and that cannot be sold separately; for example, the customer wants to buy a pre-built computer that comes with a 200GB Hard Disk Drive, but right at the bottom of the products specifications I would like to have a few drop down boxes in which I could let the customer choose for other items such as a bigger memory dimm, a bigger hard drive, an extra DVD-burner (in case the pre-built pc comes with only one and has space for an extra one), etc. Although, I wouldn't want the user to be able to pick this items in the products categories, since these will not be sold separately, unless buying a pre-built computer; Look at this brief description: -- PRE-BUILT COMPUTER -- 400GB HDD PENTIUM XEON 2.6GHZ 1.00GB DDR2 MEMORY ETC... "Add an extra <here comes the dropdown box> Hard Drive for: <dropdown box item value>" "Add extra <here comes the dropdown box> memory for: <dropdown box item value>" [ADD TO CART] Now whenever I click the [ADD TO CART] button I would like these other items in the dropdown box to be added as well; It sounds dificult, I'm not an expert at PHP, I've worked with it before, I understand its behavior and all, but most certainly I will not know how to set this up at all. Has any of you seen a contribution like that? If so, could you please point me to the right direction? If not, is there anyone who thinks, as I do, this might be a good feature for osCommerce, and might as well just start to develop it? Thanks for your kind attention :) L8r.
