Guest Posted October 30, 2006 Posted October 30, 2006 Hello: I cannot seem to figure out how I can link the Size of a product (ie. small, medium, ect) with the quantity I have in stock. Let me explain: I have a shirt, it comes in two sizes (SM & M), I put it on the site as one product, quantity:2, and in product attributes I show that there is Small and Medium. However, when an order is placed fro one of the shirts (ie. the Small), though the quantity in stock changes (from 2 to 1), it does not show which size was purchased and which one is still available. I do not know wher to link the two, or even if it is possible? In Catalog, there is no option to enter the size of a product along with the quantity you have in stock. Any advise would be greatly appreciated. Thank you:)
Gameprodigy Posted October 31, 2006 Posted October 31, 2006 In the product attributes I would make an Options called "size" then on the right side in the option values box choose Size from the drop down and enter Medium and insert, then repeat the step except using Small instead of medium. Then in the bottom panel choose the shirt in the left drop down, choose size in the option drop down and choose small in the value. Then repeat the step for the same item but using small as the value. Now when your in the shopping cart on that item you will have an attribute called size your customer will have to choose small or medium from the drop down menu. If they add one medium to the cart and continue shopping and go back to the same item and choose small this time, the cart will have two items the same shirt but one of each size, the only thing with this is that it will reduce the quantity of that shirt no matter what size by two since two were purchased. This will also show in the customers order invoice that a small and a medium were both ordered. Now if you want to link each attribute to have stock then you might try this contribution http://www.oscommerce.com/community/contributions,3302
