notubes_pete Posted October 30, 2006 Posted October 30, 2006 I have a current osCommerce site that was setup 2 years ago. I would like to give it a face lift. It has been heavily modded and contribed I would like to copy all the current files to another place so i can edit them with out effecting the live shop. Then once i have it done copy it back over the old site. It would be nice if it was attached to the current SQL database or a copy of the current SQL database. What would you recommend. Putting it someplace elst on my site or downloading it to my desktop and have a local host.
insomniac2 Posted October 31, 2006 Posted October 31, 2006 Would be a lot easier with your second choice. Run it on your local system. That way you have quick and easy access to the entire site. You'll also be able to leave your original site untouched ... as well as have the copy of the new one your working on.
