kati_mike Posted October 30, 2006 Posted October 30, 2006 Hi I am new to this 100% lost, and very going mad how can I password the admin on the site and how easy can you add a template to use and can you use this 100% DB free thanks
abra123cadabra Posted October 30, 2006 Posted October 30, 2006 You can protect your admin files with .htaccess (use your hosts admin for this) and you can add one of the many admin contributions to osC. As for the templates it depends on the template and how fit you are in using ie. photoshop etc. to modify the graphics. They usually come with instructions on how to install them and most have a trial template which you can use to see if you are skilled enough. osC needs a mySQL database. abra The First Law of E-Commerce: If the user can't find the product, the user can't buy the product. Feedback and suggestions on my shop welcome. Note: My advice is based on my own experience or on something I read in these forums. No guarantee it'll work for you! Make sure that you always BACKUP the database and the files you are going to change so that you can rollback to a working version if things go wrong.
dittones Posted October 30, 2006 Posted October 30, 2006 Mike, You can and should...Change the Admin dir to something else and change the Admin in the configure.php file to reflect the new name... No one but you and anyone you tell will know the new path... Roman
