How to install template

ELMIT

Recommended Posts

I have installed Oscommerce 2.2MS2 and would like to add a template.

However, I cannot figure out how to do that!

The template cames with these directories:

osc

screenshots

sources

-- clipart_library

------ buttons

------ logos

------ windows

-- fonts

-- psd

index.html

index.html contains:

This is a technical file included in your template package for security reasons.

Please refer to technical documentation for the correct path to your template index file.

Yes, there is a read_me_oscommerce_template.pdf, which starts with:

1. You should download XXXX.zip file from the website where your osCommerce template is

stored. Once you?ve downloaded the file, you should unpack the archive and save the unpacked

files to any folder on your computer.

2. You archive manager will create XXXX file. You should rename it using shop as the new name.

Then copy it to the root catalogue of your web server.

3. Type http://YOUR_SITE/shop/ in your browser (YOUR_SITE ? is an address of your web

If you have any problems with your browser, try http://YOUR_SITE/shop/install/. Check for the

closing slash at the end of the URL, as some of the configurations of the web servers may not

process URLs without the closing slash.

Hmm,

1. I have not a http://your_site/shop but a http://your_site

2. I have already installed OScommerce 2.2MS2 into http://your_site

Can anybody give me a hint please?

bye

Step 2 says after unpacking the zip it creates XXXX file. I'm assuming this is the file they want you to rename to shop.

then upload that file to your root directory right along with admin, etc.

then you should be able to browse to http://YOUR_SITE/shop/install/

hope this helps

ahmer where did you go to install the template. anything to the admin i can't figure out how to connect the template to the actually php files.

Thanks Anthony;

I got the template from the Template Monster, and installed it in new folder on my web server root and than run the install from like as default system, I didn't over-write the original program, its the new installation, with new database.
