♥peterpil19 Posted October 29, 2006 Posted October 29, 2006 Hi, Check the options in your paypla payment module. You can select whether the transaction is done in the selected currency or defaults to one of the other available currencies. JamieT Posted November 1, 2006 Author Posted November 1, 2006 Hi, Check the options in your paypla payment module. Hi Peter, Thanks for that - I just checked the PayPal module and see that option you mention however as far as I can tell the Transaction Currency' option is already set to 'Selected Currency'. I see the option to enforce transactions to a particular currency but I definitely have 'Selected Currency' as the setting. Still not sure why then PayPal is performing the transaction in US$? Your thoughts appreciated and any other ideas welcome. Cheers Jamie If you're not living on the edge - you're taking up too much room....! :-P
Gameprodigy Posted November 1, 2006 Posted November 1, 2006 When you yourself goes through check and you are redirected to paypal, is your personal account or business account a US paypal account, it may be your preferences settings in paypal, since your redirected to your account for the purchase if your account is a US account it may be showing you the US dollar value, if your account is austrailian account then it should denote the currency to that because your the one shopping paypal may be changing the currency based on preferences. So say im austrailian, I would pay in my currency and paypal would then convert the amount to your business account depending on your currency selection. I don't know if thats the case, but I would think if I have a US account and i buy something in Euros and use my paypal account because I don't have Euros it would convert it to a US dollar amount so that I know how much I will be paying.

Thanks Gregg, I think you've pointed me in the right direction. I'm actually setting up the site for a frieds shop so I'll have to go and do some research as to how they've set up their PayPal acct. What's slightly embarrassing is that (upon reflection) I wonder if they haven't even actually set up their PayPal acct yet on the site and perhaps the site is performing a default Paypal transaction (in US $) etc. Anyway - more research required on my part before I post more on this problem. Thanks for the help guys. If you're not living on the edge - you're taking up too much room....! :-P
Guest Posted November 2, 2006 Posted November 2, 2006 I am only new at this php stuff but I found where the problem lies. go to catelog/includes/modules/payment/paypal.php then go to line 84 $my_currency = 'USD'; and change to $my_currency = 'AUD'; I followed it through to the payment page on Paypal and it worked. Damien.
