Items not added to cart when not logged in

Hi,

 

I have just transferred an OsCommerce site from PHP4/MySQL4.1 to PHP5/MySQL5 and have followed the instructions on this site for how to overcome the issues with Register Globals and also the old style MySQL queries.

 

I am left, however, with one strange problem and that is that clicking the Buy Now button just returns a "Product Not Found" message instead of adding the item to the cart.

 

This is only when not logged in. If the user logs in the cart works fine, and if they then log out and start again it works fine.

 

I wonder if anybody has any clues on where I should be looking to repair this as I have been trying for a day or two and it is beginning to drive me crazy!
