mysterymouse Posted October 28, 2006 Posted October 28, 2006 I am trying to set up table rate shipping but having a few problems. Firstly - cannot set the default weight type - I do not have the icons that are shown in the knowledgebase. Which table can I change it in. If I cannot change it - then what is the default rate when the shop is loaded - kgs, grams, lbs??? Secondly, (ignoring the problem above) and playing around with it - it ignores whatever I have typed into the box and goes back to the table rate example given. ie if I type 250:5.95,500:6.95 it just reverts back to the example that is given. Any ideas please......

I can't remember where is the file located.

There is a bug and a solution for what you are describing. http://www.oscommerce.com/community/bugs,2742/search,2742 However, there is also another bug that I have yet to find a solution. The module will only allow the first option of the table to be applied towards shipping. http://www.oscommerce.com/community/bugs,9...pping%2BModules

DejaVu Posted November 27, 2007 Posted November 27, 2007 Set your Tare Weight to 0 in Admin Shipping section. The Tare weight does 'play' with the table rate module. It automatically adds 3lb's, 3Kg's 3Gram's etc to every order for the Packaging!

Any ideas please...... For the second, what is your oscversion? If you have 2.2 and last years patch, there was an error that needs to be corrected. The knowledge base is based on the next release (V3), hence the different appearance. The default weight unit is not defined in osc. You just edit the language files to reflect which unit you are using. You need to be consistent to alwaysput the weights in as being in the same unit. So, if you specify kgs in the text areas, and something weighs 200 g, you put it in as 0.2

Regards Jon I think the bug you are referring to has to do with the patch that was released last year. If you search the contrib area for patch, you should get the patch plus bug fixes.

That is the one. If that is your osc version (it is mine), you should follow it and ensure that the changes are done.
Pensive Posted November 27, 2007 Posted November 27, 2007 That is the one. If that is your osc version (it is mine), you should follow it and ensure that the changes are done. having done some digging- I installed from oscommerce-2.2ms2-060817 this means that all these patches are already applied therefore the bug is either 1) not fixed or 2) my fault I would hazard a guess at 1)....?
Pensive Posted November 27, 2007 Posted November 27, 2007 1) not fixedor 2) my fault I would hazard a guess at 1)....? My suspicions were correct The solution is simple, and can be found here: http://www.oscommerce.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=251673 The first step (replacing the one line of modules.php) is the one that fixed it for me.
