Empty page (no results) when remove 'Manufacturer' filter

in stock osC, when you place and then remove a 'Manufacturer' filter [i.e., return on the drop down to Please Select], you're returned to an empty page that says "There are no products to list in this category."

 

is there a way to auto direct the user somewhere else, like say the specials page?
