virtual mall for multi-stores

I would like to create a website for a local market, more like a virtual mall with various store owners and different products.

 

My idea:

1. One main interface at http://domain.com ~ showing all categories, various latest products, specials and featured products

 

2. all store owners having their store at http://domain.com/store

 

3. store owners have the ability to upload products by themselves

 

The idea is more or less like froogle or shopzilla but for a local market. Can OSC does this or is there any other more suitable software for this job?
