Code commentary?

Has anyone created a list of variables used in osCommerce, with an explanation of what they are doing? Even a rundown of general conventions used for variable names would be helpful. I noticed that there are some that are all caps, and others that aren't.

 

I'm sure that I can figure these out if I study them enough, but if someone has already done that, I would prefer not to duplicate the effort.
