Replace Words (Top-Catalog-Log In) with Images/Buttons

I've searched and searched and can't find this, so I apologize if it's a boneheaded question... I want to make buttons for these options instead of having the words across the top... where/how do I do this?

breadcrumb??? just those words? the whole breadcrumb section or jus few words??????

I apologize - I put it in the title of the thread and didn't repeat it in the text section - I want to replace the "Top - Catalog - Log In - My Account - Cart Contents" etc. with buttons instead of the generic words.
