Guest Posted October 24, 2006 Posted October 24, 2006 This is driving me nuts. I've been trying to get rid of the stupid annoying borders around my infoboxes. No matter what I change in the stylesheet, they are still there! What I want: 1) no infobox borders 2) category names to be CENTERED & spaced out a little bit more 3) category names to be a tad darker (they're too light now) here's my site: www.fairytalefashionshoppe.com Can anyone help me? I've literally spent about 6 hours on this.

Karina, go to your stylesheet, and for (1) find: .infoBox { background: #FFFFFF; } Change to: .infoBox { background: #FFFFFF; border: none } For (2) and (3) find: .infoBoxContents { background: #FFFFFF; font-family: Verdana, Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 10px; } Change to: .infoBoxContents { background: #FFFFFF; font-family: Verdana, Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 10px; padding-left:10px; line-height:10px; } If that doesn't work, find: .boxText { font-family: Verdana, Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 11px; } Change to: .boxText { font-family: Verdana, Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 11px; padding-left:10px; line-height:10px; } Try changing your font color: #E35169 (this is a tad darker than what you have now). Sorry I can't do better than this -- going on 1:00 in the morning here. If you're still having problems, find me on Yahoo Messenger (name is in my profile) in about 7 or 8 hours when I'm refreshed and in the office, and I'll help you out more. Good luck. Thank you so much for the quick response. I tried what you suggested, and literally NOTHING changed. I don't know if it's a problem with my browser not checking for a new version or something. Tried Firefox & IE6, I've cleared my cache & everything else I can think of but everything is exactly the same including that border. ??? I'm stumped. Guest Posted October 24, 2006 Posted October 24, 2006 By the way, I'm trying to get my boxes to look more like this: http://www.mypinkprincessjeweltique.com/shop/ centered, spaced out, & dark colored. Thanks!
digbydo Posted October 24, 2006 Posted October 24, 2006 Here's my style sheet as it is now (after your changes): .boxText { font-family: Verdana, Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12px; padding-left:10px; line-height:10px; } .errorBox { font-family: Verdana, Arial, sans-serif; font-size : 12px; background: #ffb3b5; font-weight: bold; } .stockWarning { font-family: Verdana, Arial, sans-serif; font-size : 12px; color: #cc0033; } [SNIPPED] .infoBox { background: #FFFFFF; border: none } This is not your stylesheet as listed in https://www.fairytalefashionshoppe.com/os/stylesheet.css I *did* explain in a bit more detail in an earlier post until the *!^* OSC database decided it had too many connections and crashed (again) Anyway, check that the file you're editing is the same one as that being called by your home page (and get rid of that annoying right click disable - it wastes time debugging for you) Regards, one-click installation.. Somehow during one of these modifications, I accidentally FTP'd the stylesheet to the includes/ directory & have been editing that one. I've still got some tweaking to do but at least I'm modifying the correct one now! Thanks for the help!

Thanks for the help! Change your: padding-left:10px To: padding-left:5px It seems too pushed over to the right as of now. And yes, get rid of that right-click-disable stuff. That's too elementary. Guest Posted October 24, 2006 Posted October 24, 2006 Thanks. No I'm not afraid of people stealing a flower picture. I've been afraid to delete the right-click-disable script because it was put there by the people I bought the template from. But it's been really annoying to me with trouble-shooting so I just went ahead & deleted it. I think I just violated my agreement but if they gripe about it I'll put it back. ;) Does anyone have any more suggestions as far as layout? Would it be better to put the right column back? I took it away because I thought it looked too crowded, but now I think I've got too much stuff in the left column & it makes the page too long. I think I'm going to remove the what's new box too. Any other suggestions? Be as harsh as necessary! I love your "How To" articles by the way jpweber. :)
