How much we have to pay for adwords?

I tried google adwords Traffic Estimator Tool

I put keyword: diamond

I selected regions: Australia, Canada, UK, USA.

the result is:

 

Keyword......Estimated Avg. CPC........position..........Estimated Clicks / Day........Estimated Cost / Day

diamond......$1.76 - $2.44..................1 - 3...............326 - 410...........................$580 - $1,000

 

I just cannot believe it.

Is it true I have to $1000 per day for 410 clicks a day on adwords?

It depends on the amount you pay and how popular the keyword is. You can lower your cost/click to .05. That will lower your cost quite a bit but you may not show up as much as you want.

Is it working that way-Max CPC to 0.05?

I have 20 keywords here

my Max CPC now is 0.10 it wont show at all. All inactive. I emailed google why. they said change Maz CPC to recommended minimum.

 

Should I change Max CPC to $6.50 or $13.00? Too expensive

It seems your chosen keywords are very popular with your competitors. The CPC Google suggests is the minimum you need to bid for your ads to show up when someone searches for this keyword. So yes, 13 $ for tiffany silver is correct. The avg. CPC from the traffic estimator is much lower than this minimum bid.

 

Here my conclusion for this: A minimum bid of 13 $ per click guarantees that your ad will show up at all. The CPC you pay when someone clicks on your ad depends on your position. It's most likely less than the minimum bid. If your competitor bids more and is listed higher than your ad but the user clicks on your ad, you can end up paying half of what your competitor bid. But that's in theory and you'll never know unless you try.

 

Use the daily budget setting to control the costs and give it a go. Check if other keywords are more successful in regards to click through rates.

I have worked my way through the adwords jungle for a few months now. Have come to the conclusion that it is worth it.

 

I sell plants on line, have 500 keywords listed, my add pops up with all of them.

 

I get a return of 1.5 to 2 % of the clicks.

 

Winter will slow for me but in spring I will up my daily amount quite a bit.

 

So far the google cost has been about 5% of my sales.

 

I canceled all my ebay operations, ebay store and auctions and rather funnel all that money saved to google.

I work for a pro audio company, and we have had tremendous success with Adwords. The key is to be as specific as possible and use brackets and quotes to narrow your keywords. NEVER use the word diamond, but instead say something like "diamond pendant" or "diamond engagement ring". Be as specific as possible and experiment a bit. Don't be afraid to throw a lot of negative keywords in as well.
