I made a change to my catalog/admin/index.php page and it now does not work at all. I need to know where I can find the original code to paste into it. I tried making a new catalog, then copying the new catalog's code into the old catalog's index.php and it still does not work. It now says

Parse error: parse error, unexpected '=', expecting ')' in /home/thegolde/public_html/catalog/catalog/index.php on line 69

when I try to access the catalog main page, and the admin page just has gibberish on it.

HELP!!!! :(

I do not want to start from scratch and redo my whole catalog.

Just download the osCommerce zip package again and take out the file that you need.

where do I get that? I originally installed osCommerce from the web host that I am using.

OK, I can open it in text format now.

When I copied the code and pasted it into my index.php, I still get the error. Is there something that needs to be changed in that code to work on my specific catalog pathway? I am so close to being done, and do not want to uninstall oscommerce and start over!!!!

it's possible you have a ' in your text or code somewhere. Did you change /catalog/admin/includes/languages/english/index.php? Do you have an ' in there like in we're? If so, you need to make it we\'re otherwise it will cause the problems you listed above

The code is cut and pasted into index.php and I still get the error

Parse error: parse error, unexpected '=', expecting ')' in /home/thegolde/public_html/catalog/catalog/index.php on line 69

I made no changes to the code at all, and it still does not work, and now the whole catalog does not work, not only the admin page.

ok start by rolling back to what you had working correctly

next post in here ALL of the changes that you made

I still believe there's been a change most likely in your /english/ folder with a ' in the wording somewhere which is causing this problem
