Header Background Colour.

Hi everyone, I have replaced the OS Commerce header with my own company logo.

 

Originaly I had a GIF image that had the background colour set as #FF9999 but on different size screens this header sometimes did not reach the far right of the screen. I therefore decided to produce a new GIF image and made the background transparent, and then I amended the stylesheet.css - TR header background to #FF9999 (from#ffffff).

 

The problem now is the header remains white, but if you click on the header it briefly flashes up the colour that I require :( (#FF9999)

 

How do I ammend the background colour to permanently show through the transparent GIF ???

What are you using to edit you image?

 

You must start out with a transparent background for your image to be transparent. You did not do this, it is white. Your other alternative is to flood fill the image #ff9999 the color of your header. The problem is not your style sheet rather your image. The flash of color is your browser showing the background before image downloades and then white when the image loads.

You do not know the time I have spent on this....a lesson learnt! I had set the GIF to transparent after creating it rather than starting off with a transparent page.
