I would like to add a word in front of the price

 

something like "from" or "only"

 

can this be done and if so can someone tell me how to do it

Look in catalog/includes/languages/english/index.php and on or around line 26 you will see

 

define('TABLE_HEADING_PRICE', 'Price');

 

Change the Price wording to what you want.
