speedconcept Posted October 20, 2006 Posted October 20, 2006 Im working for a friends company and setting them up with a POS system instore and an online store. We have a quickbooks POS system setup with items and prices/quantiity. We are using all fields, desc1 and 2, and all 5 custom fields. I have a few questions: Can you import your Items FROM quickbooks TO osc? I read about the QBI tool, but seems to go the other way. maybe Im not searching with the right phrase. Is it easy to add pictures to the items once I install everything and have a OSC database setup. Im waiting for a test domain to be setup (transfered from another hosting compnay) so that I am able to play with this. I may answer my own questions once I get it installed. Thanks, Mike
rpoy Posted November 9, 2006 Posted November 9, 2006 Hi Mike! I'll take a shot here since I am doing the exact same thing with QB. Well not importing but getting all these programs to make nice with each other. I am still in the investigation stage, but I dont think that the QBI tool is set up for exporting. So the way I would go about importing is to create a report in QBPOS (which sucks for reporting - better in QB) and then export that report into an Excel file. You might have to clean up the report a bit since QB adds all kinds of formatting. There is a contribution here... http://www.oscommerce.com/community/contri...ll/search,excel ...and it will import your items from an Excel file. It may not be sexy but I think it would work. If you need to add products all the time then it might be worth writing a program in Excel to clean up your reports or continue the search for a better solution. Hope that helps... Randy
