Guest Posted October 20, 2006 Posted October 20, 2006 I am setting up SSL on my shopping cart and I believed that I had everything set up correctly until I ran a test run and weird things happen. The first thing I did was purchase an SSL for "awesomepoolsite.com". My cart is at https://awesomepoolsite.com/os. I saw that the cart was not securing automatically so I read and found that I needed to change the catalog/includes/configure.php file from " define('ENABLE_SSL', false); // secure webserver for checkout procedure?" to " define('ENABLE_SSL', true); // secure webserver for checkout procedure?". After I made that change I had a problem changing the mod to 444 and when I left it 644 I got the follwoing error "Warning Warning: I am able to write to the configuration file: /home/username/public_html/os/includes/configure.php. This is a potential security risk - please set the right user permissions on this file." I ended up having to go through my cpanel to change the mod to 444. Any ways I got it changed and went through a test purchase. My store is set to production and my authorize.net gateway account set to test. When I went through the purchase it started acting very weird. First I logged in with the customer account I created when I first installed the cart. I chose a product and added it to my shopping cart. Proceeded to checkout and entered in all of my information. The entire time my url shows that I am still on the https://awesomepoolsite.com domain all the way through until I get to the "comfirm order" button. Once I click that it loads for about 20 seconds and then goes to the sign in page like I wasn't signed in. I also noticed that the url now was "https://secure.authorize.net/gateway/transact.dll". So, I try to log in on the sign in page and it just refreshes the page when I enter my log in info and hit "Sign In". Now this is a real problem but it is not the funniest part. Here is the funniest part. First off when I go back to https://awesomepoolsite.com/os and log back in, the item that i was trying to purchase is still in my cart and not in my "purchases" area in my account. On top of that I get an email reciept for the purchase I tried to make but never saw a comformation page and it doesn't show up in my purchase history. I thought that maybe the cart was redirecting me to the "sign in" page instead of the "order conformation page" but I doubt that since my purchase history is not loggin the purchase, but I also don't understand why I am getting an email receipt for this. I am so lost. I have no Idea where to begin and I REALLY do not want to delete this and reinstall it seeing as how I have spend over 12 hours entering in products and editing the cart settings. Can someone please please please help point me in the right direction? I am very new to shopping carts. In fact this is my first one. Brian
Guest Posted October 20, 2006 Posted October 20, 2006 One more thing. I have already try clearing my cookies and retrying.
Guest Posted October 20, 2006 Posted October 20, 2006 Unsure if you have configured your SSL cert right, https://awesomepoolsite.com/os. is not the same as https://www.awesomepoolsite.com/os. When you generated your CSR did you do it for awesomepoolsite.com or www.awesomepoolsite.com as this makes a difference. Stuart
Guest Posted October 20, 2006 Posted October 20, 2006 I also generated the CSR with "awesomepoolsite.com".
Guest Posted October 20, 2006 Posted October 20, 2006 The SSL cert seems to be switching itself on and off correctly, so its seems setup right, your images are all broken.
Guest Posted October 20, 2006 Posted October 20, 2006 yea I was playing around with the code and tried to enter a description area to see if I could enter another pic. I plan on taking it back out.
Guest Posted October 20, 2006 Posted October 20, 2006 In addition I entered my products without uploading any images. I am collecting the images now to upload later.
Guest Posted October 21, 2006 Posted October 21, 2006 Am I describing this correctly? It is a very confusing situation to me.
Guest Posted October 21, 2006 Posted October 21, 2006 I find it hard to believe that with a member count of 100,000+ that no one has a clue on how to tackel this issue. That is surprising. I don't need a solution spelled out for me but a nice nudge in a direction would be helpful.
Jack_mcs Posted October 21, 2006 Posted October 21, 2006 I might be alone in this but whenever I see such a long bit of text asking a question, I usually ignore it. Even re-reading it now, I'm not sure what your problem is. If you asked the question again without so much narrative you might get more responses.
