Is there a credit module out there, where a customer can pay for example $20 and they get 10 credits and then use those credits at checkout?

Yes it is called Points And Rewards

Just rename points to credits if you want it to be credit.

You could also modify Credit Class Gift Voucher mod if you were really daring.

 

You could also modify one of the Account Balance mods which has a credit field. You would than have to do the code to calculate dollar value to points value like in the Points and Rewards module.

 

 

But to answer your question I don't think there is an actual mod where you can do what you want.
