Guest Posted October 20, 2006 Posted October 20, 2006 Started out with an idea in my head, but now that I've got it togethor it seems to lack a decent color scheme & to myself doesn't look overly professional. I've changed the header like 5 times, gradually improving on my "photoshop" skillz but still doesn't look quite right. As you can see i've got some brick work happening in the footer, do you think I should use it in the header too or keep the steel mesh look? Site averages 10 unique hits a day but not a single sale as yet even tho offline sales are booming, & I've got some awesome t-shirts coming in. Originally there was a yellow navigation bar under the blue bar in the header, & will consider replacing it but I think I've got too many different colors going on there. There also was blue menu tabs coming up from the blue bar in the header, but would it look stupid having the side menu in addition to the top horizontal menu? www.ensane-merchandise.com.au The site may be down when you check, this is routine behaviour for my dodgy host which wouldn't be if I hadn't already paid for the 2 yrs hosting :( Well, do your worst, any & all comments will be much appreciated. Thanx in advance.
nicangeli Posted October 20, 2006 Posted October 20, 2006 the site looks really good, i think the yellow bar at the bottom of the page needs to go, or be replaced with one that matches your color scheme, remove all google ads etc, i couldnt read some of the "slogans" on some of the t-shirts, for example, here no ssl, i think you also need to drive more unique visitors to the site,
iAddict Posted October 21, 2006 Posted October 21, 2006 Don't use a splash page, it's a big no no in ecommerce. Some people will just exit a site if there is one. Get a SSL asap.
Guest Posted October 21, 2006 Posted October 21, 2006 Thanks for pointing that out Nickangeli, I'm looking at taking my own pictures & installing a multiple picture mod so I can have the large & closeup images. Regards to SSL - I do have "Shared SSL", but it was down a few times so I give up on it. I'm assuming SSL would only be used in check-out & account login? The splash page - well I did have a auto-redirect setup but soon realised robots didn't like that idea, did try to move the whole directory but had some strange results due to some dodgy coding I imagine. Guess i'll give it another go soon. Cheers.
