Subcategory listings in parent category?

Is there a mod to show subcategory listings in the parent category as well as the sub category?

 

Example:

 

Books

--Drama

--Romance

 

The way osc works now is if there are no listings in the parent category(Books), it simply shows the two sub categories as icons for Drama and Romance.

 

Is there a mod that when a user clicks on Books, it will show all the store listings for all the drama books and romance books... I know that you can copy them over and have it link, but that will be very time consuming on large databases.

I have been working on this for quite some time. Does anybody have any ideas how to do this?

Ok I think I am getting there with this.... PHP coders, please correct me if I'm wrong, but you would have to use the tep_get_subcategories to pull all the child categories, then I am not sure how to implement it.

 

Seems like just a few lines of code to do this.

 

Any help would be GREATLY appreciated on this.
