missed orders

my shop doesn't get some of the orders (3 in 7 so far). Customers paid by paypal so I know I have new orders. Does anybody have the same issue?

Yes this is a common issue. you will need to install the very lengthy but very helpfull contribution called Held Orders. What is happening is a person checksout and goes to PayPal and pays. The payment is received and PayPal posts a message saying in 10 seconds you will be redirected back to the website to finish the checkout procedure, most people ignore this seeing as they already paid and just close their browser so the order doesnt stick with oscommerce. Held Order module records the order on the store PRIOR to the person leaving to go pay so wether they return or not, you will have record of it.

 

Now all Held Orders may not be actual paid for orders. If someone puts something in their cart and leaves your site not wanting to buy it, it will also go in Held Order in admin.

 

Very helpfull tool.
